I know this may be an odd question, but does anybody have an autocad or other rendering of the interior of the cargo area of the 100 series?

If not I'm going to be setting out to take as many measurements as necessary to start working on something like this in order to facilitate building a custom storage system for the rear. I'm mainly concerned with trying to make a top panel that will conform to the sides of the truck at the same height as the rear seats when laid down. The current iteration of the box the previous owner (my uncle) built is simply a rectangular box that fits the largest floor space. I'm a bit anal about fit-n-finish, and it doesn't look nearly factory enough for my liking, so over the next few weeks I'll be designing it and then building it next time I visit my parent's house so I can get some help with the construction and installation.

anyways, if nobody has one, would anybody be interested in mine if I share it once I'm done?

I would be interested. Would it be in 3D or 2D? If 2D, what elevation off the floor would it be at?

You might PM David (TrekboxX). He has a great profile for his drawer system that he is selling and may be willing to share it (especially a generalized version).

I'll probably start with a 2D drawing at the elevation of the back of the seats when they're laid down. But depending the complexity of the cargo bay I may be able to extend it into 3D down the the floor and up to the top of the seats.

I'd love a copy (autocad or pdf) rendering of the space. I'd like to make some basic drawers, nothing as fancy (or expensive) as the ones people post on here, but I would still like to have the top platform fit the entire space, so the dog's legs do not have a place to fall into...

Ding, ding! Sounds like a lot of work when you can just scribe and cut the side panels to fit.

I will probably do that first actually, and then measure the drawing to transfer into autocad. I want to work on the final design in autocad so I can change and move things more easily.

OK. I'm not sure it's really worth the effort since the wings don't really do anything. The main design you'll want to play with is in the rectangular center box or two.

One note about the wing supports... I'd put them at the very front and back of the wing, and maybe one metal L-shaped support in the middle. You want to have as much access to that space as possible.

I'm actually planning to affix them with a couple of heavy duty hinges, so they can be folded up. This will allow access to the void space behind them, as well as allowing the bow to be removed easily out of the back.

Not sure what you mean by "the bow from the back" but in practice I don't think you'll ever want them entirely folded up? Perhaps you would, and that's the fun of building your own so you can design them around your intended use!

You will have to move all that gear completely out of the way. You can just push things to the middle of the cargo area, lift up the wings to 90 degrees to access the contents.

yeah, I mean "box from the back." little typo. I would need to fold them up in order to slide the entire box assembly out of the truck. I don't know if I'll have to do this often, but I don't want to have to disassemble it in order to get it out. I'm also playing with ides about making the back nearest the seats hinge upwards as well, allowing access to their contents without pulling the drawers all the way out.

Jdlobb, please do share once you have the 2D file. I am also playing with the idea of building my own draw system. Keep in mind that not all 100s are the same. Some have read A/C and some don't. Does yours got rear A/C? My concept was to make two individuals side by side draw system, so that sometime I can will use one of my third row seat if needed.
