Not sure where to post this query so here goes... I'm moving from Sacramento CA to Eureka CA very soon and need to get my FJ80 transported to Eureka because its currently not road ready. I'm curious if anyone knows of a good auto transporter company? I have looked into the Uhaul Car Trailer (not dolly) and I know my FJ80 is already overweight and will be hanging off the back of the trailer a few feet.

My thinking is it's just too sketchy to overload the Uhaul trailer for the trip up 101, it's not extreme elevation but there's enough challenging areas to concern me. If anyone has any insight to doing this safely, I'm listening!

Thanks in advance
Andy

Summit Auto Transport. Not sure if he does inoperable but its worth a call. Aaron (303) 524-9122

Thanks much, I'll call in the AM. For what its worth it is running, just a bit rough.

He has shipped for the MUD community and has a pretty high rating for having to deal with us. Congratulations on the move, I hope for good things in your future. No, not trying to sound like a fortune cookie. Let us know your outcome please.

Sent a quote to you. As long as it will drive onto a trailer, it will save you some money. Quote I sent is high intentionally as there won't be many drivers that want to go to the coast in that area.

Thanks, we're looking forward to the change for sure. Less people and no major heat to deal with.
I'll keep the thread informed when something happens.

I got the quote, been running around like crazy to pack etc... I'll call you asap to discuss the LC more and the area I'll be moving to so we can really be clear on things.
Thanks

UPDATE: I was never able to have a phone discussion with Summit Auto Transport to clarify things, and I knew they couldn't get a semi full of cars to my new location (tight area) so I reached out to a small shipper I know of in the SoCal area. He has a 24ft 10K lb rated trailer with a winch, and he can haul my FJ80 for me right to my new house. He's a good guy and transported a vintage travel trailer from me to a buyer 2 years ago. I'll post his info in case anyone has a need for it.

Stephen Britland 714-305-6947 He's out of SoCal and he'll be moving my LC at the end of this month. I guess he's also done some military equipment in the past as well, so he's pretty open to anything that'll fit on the trailer...

The way your post is worded, it sounds like I may have dropped the ball regarding communication. Could you clarify if that is the case?
I think you were really busy and just forgot to get ahold of me over the phone, it's ok though I'm not mad at all. My new house location is in an area I knew would be a real problem for semi's and I'm on a quickly closing in deadline. So I went with a small transporter that can easily make it to my place and can also kind of jump and run quickly. At least this time of year...
Again, I'm not mad and I'll keep you guys in mind for anyone I know of in the future.
