Auto-tilt mirrors intermittently working

My mirrors don't seem to work very often. When they do, both sides tilt downward.

Anyone else have this issue? Is there a switch somewhere I am not seeing? Seems like they just tilt down anytime you are in reverse on my other GX.

On my 03 if the mirror switch is in left or right position they tilt down and if in the middle/neutral position they don’t move (while in reverse).

That was it... not sure why Toyota would do that from the factory.. but at least I know how it works now

I thought they stopped working on mine for a month until I figured out the switch as well. It's a very nice feature, even with a backup camera, and I wish our other vehicles had it too.

It is to give owners the option. I personally do not want my mirrors to move down 90% of the time and I keep it in the center. If I want them to I can easily slide the switch. I appreciate the ability to easily disable this.

I suppose what I meant is that Toyota usually spells things out better. A separate switch would make more sense to me.
