I copied this from club Lexus. Apparently this one finally works to get rid of the stupidest vehicle feature ever produced. Credit goes to @motin at Club Lexus.

I ordered one as well. Mine wasn’t activating for awhile, but it turns out my battery had some low amperage and was discovered at my 30K service. Glad to see something was finally figured out for this.

Ordered and thank you @motin for posting.
Of all the great things Toyota did on this new platform, the start stop feature isn’t one of them. Of all the Toyotas and Lexus’ I’ve driven, this is the worst execution of start stop they have to date.

It annoys the hell out of me but it's better than the one on my wife's 201 Yukon FWIW. At least Lexus keeps the car going if the AC is cold. The Yukon just starts blowing out noticeably warmer air. I'm convinced it's also wearing down her battery as we've already replaced one and I think we're about to replace a second one. I'm going to buy a bypass for hers now too.

Thanks for the post. I just ordered one!!

I’ve never ordered anything from aliexpress, are they ok to deal with?

I don’t use it often but have never had an issue when I have. I use paypal to do the transaction so if I do have an issue there is some recourse,
I’m just concerned that this is some Chinese junk and it’ll mess with the vehicle somehow.

I wish I knew enough about electronics to know if the module does anything nefarious. After I learned (according to Trex Labs "Drone Wars 3 youtube video) that DJI drones communicate with China and pass on tons of info (mapping etc), I don't really trust anything from China. That being said, I guess I hate the ASS system (shamelessly stolen from Eric Peters Autos, the libertarian car guy) more than I distrust the Chinese.

I know a Lexus Master Diagnostic Technician. When this comes in I plan on asking him if it could potentially have any impact on other vehicle systems. My assumption is no since all this switch does is tell a system not to activate by indicating the button has been pressed.
He will tell me the risks but certainly wont be in a position to recommend it’s use.

I would not think that the module would be able to communicate with the data modules, nevertheless, I think I will wait to install the module until I read your post following your discussion with the Lexus Master Diagnostic Technician..

Here is the read from the Master Diagnostic Tech.
It depends on how the dongle works.
1. If this dongle senses power (at start up) and "electronically" pushes the disable button for auto start stop....fine to install and no impact/risk on electronics in this stysem and no impact on other systems.
2. If the dongle simply "jumps" the wires (pushing the button continuously) then there is risk of frying something.

Based on some of the other writeups it seems like the dongle acts like described in scenario 1 above since the car starts and the auto start disable light appears on the dash a few seconds later. My uneducated hypothesis would be that if it were "jumped" the auto start/stop disable light would appear immediately.

I'm moving forward with install when it arrives.

Love to hear from anyone with more electronics experience or a better understanding of the internals of the dongle to verify that scenario 1 is actually what it is doing.

Delivered yesterday and installed this morning. Super easy install - 5 minutes or so.

Autostart/stop Off light comes on in dash after the car turns on so I assume it's working. Will take it for a spin later today and come back if it is not. I used this post for the install.

edit: works great so far. there are two spots in my drive going somewhere from home where i guess i'm now conditioned to expect to feel the engine cut off and it was at those spots that i realized the switch was working correctly.

Mine arrived
Admittedly took me a bit longer to install as I was chicken about breaking any plastic tabs etc
It’s in and working as described by others.
One thing to note….you will likely get a text notification from USPS saying that your package is stuck in customs because of a ZIP code issue with the delivery address. Just know that its a scam that happens about 100% of the time you order something from China. Just sit back, avoid clicking any links and your package will show up.
