My Uncles Landcruiser starts up Automatically most of the times when parked. I know its a problem of short circuiting somewhere but anyone care to throw any light? Thanks

It does look like a worn starter switch, if it was the starter itself it would also engage when driving. The only thing you change in the starter system when driving or not is the position of the ignition or starter switch.

As I understand the problem occurs when parked and the ignition/starter switch is in the off position.
When in on position it does not occur.
You should try to take the wiring plug off the switch to see if it starts then when parked.

It's a funny sight though...Its like Knight rider trying to drive away lol...but the diesel engine doesn't start right away becoz it has to be given heat first :)
