Man... I'm having a hard time finding a mirror for my 2000 Land Cruiser. I found one made by CIBA, part number matched and everything. When it got here the mount was different (I figured that out the hard way).

So yesterday I found one online from a Toyota parts website and I ordered it. Today they called me (it was a dealership in Washington state) and said the part number didn't exist anymore and cancelled my order.

I've searched used parts on the net and I'm coming up blank except for one site that wants $500 plus for the mirror. There is another group of parts that go between the mirror and the mount that I will need as well. I didn't see a price on them.

Even if I wanted to buy one for way too much money I'd have to figure out what color Stone and Ivory are. I know from experience that trying to remove the original mount so I can sub in the CIBA will result in a broken windshield.

Any ideas?

PM Beno, CDan and get their assistance. Both are in Toyota parts and can source and cross reference to find most parts. STONE = gray
IVORY=light tan

Has anyone switched to one of the camera-in-mirror replacements? Can't tell from web if they're quality or cheese.

Not necessarily this, but similar.

Take a trip to the wrecker... LX470 mirror should fit too

I'll PM them and see what they can come up with. I made a 1,480 mile / 22 hr 1 day round trip to Florida on the 4th and the rear view was missed. On the upside the TLC did great.

I can find replacements on eBay but the mount is wrong. The wrecking yard idea is a good one.
