Well the HJ45 has gone to a new home now and I have picked up this for my new project. Its a 84 HJ74 with power steer, 5 speed and disc brakes. Needs a full dismantle and rebuild but I will get to that eventually. At the moment I am just collecting a few thing to put on before I strip her down. So far I have a set of XR8 Falcon seats which I fitted one this morning and have started on the overhead console. Have the UHF to fit in there and just need a stereo. Will post more pics as I progress.

Bit of an update on the 47. Both seats are now fitted, switches in the dash and overhead console is finished. Need to wire all the switches up but I will leave that until I do the full rebuild.

Yeah mate

So after picking it all up thought that I better get stuck into fixing some of the bits and getting rid of the rust. I am hoping to have all the panels rust free and primed before I even begin to pull the old girl down. This way it will save me heaps of time off the road.

That's very Australian, 40 series parts under a Queenslander :) , hope there is a washing machine and concrete tub under there as well :)

Got the washing machine but no concrete tub.

Good to get a couple of days on the welder and grinder. These are some of the old parts I picked up the other day. A little bit of cutting here and grinding there then a coat of Etch Primer until I can get a bit further on them. Started on the guards today.

Well after 600klms (372 miles) and 8 hours driving in one day I finally picked up the new engine for the HJ47. Just got to get it fitted now.

Got the roof and bezel finished. Its getting close to pulling her off the road to start the full rebuild.

Yeah mate it is. Hoping to get it fitted sooner rather than later. Got to finish off all the panel work first then start on the chassis before the engine gets any work done to it.

Finally got around to putting a bit of colour down today. Will hopefully get the other side done on the weekend.

Well the time has come to strip her down. Got sick of too many little issues occurring so I spent a couple of hours starting today. Hopefully a rolling chassis by the weekend.

Watch this space for updates.

A couple more days on the tools and I am left with only a chassis. Have given it a clean up and found some more surprises. Hopefully have the chassis painted by Sunday then I can start on the diffs and suspension.
