To my total disgust I found out yesterday that the Australian 05 upgrade of the LC100 will not have the VVTi engine. I have been contemplating trading my 03 for the new one but I think I will wait now till the new model in 07. Toyota seem to have lost the plot in OZ.

I guess the Aussie market isn't competitive enough in terms of engine power? Here, the domestic SUV competitors have really driven the market, forcing toyota to improve performance. Virtually all mid-sized SUV's are in the 250-300 hp range. I think North America is the only place where virtually every SUV toyota currently makes is available w/ a 4.7L vvti V8.
