Hi everyone,

While off-roading recently, my LX570 got stuck in a shallow water crossing, and unfortunately, water intruded into the cabin—only about an inch on the floor. After driving home, I started hearing a crackling noise from the speakers. I disconnected the battery to avoid further damage, but since then, the audio has completely stopped working.

The screen and display work perfectly, but no sound comes out of the speakers.

I’ve gone through a few threads here and learned about:
• The amplifier under the passenger seat (I tried toggling it, but no luck).
• Potential wiring issues due to water exposure.

I’m looking for systematic advice on what to check or replace next. Are there specific components (wiring, connectors, amp, etc.) I should test first to narrow this down?

Driving without music for a few weeks has been a painful experience, so any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

With an inch of water on the floor, water would have certainly flooded the connectors in the front door sills and perhaps the connectors at the amp. I’d start by accessing those areas, checking for residual water and corroded electrical connections. Dry everything out and reconnect the plugs with dielectric grease. Water can cause shorts that will blow fuses, but I assume you’ve checked those already.
