Hi,

I live, work and drive my 2000 LC in Guatemala in extremely harsh conditions. The truck has been a dream and got me out of many tough situations. Yesterday however I was driving at about 5mph when the ATRAC light started blinking and the rear ABS kicked in on both sides. No other indicator lights displayed. Once the ATRAC turned off, I was able to continue driving but the problem reoccured and I was left stranded with the family. I managed to get the vehicle to a mechanic and today we scanned the vehicle, cleaned all the wheel sensors (found considerable dirt from the river crossings), checked all the connections but the problem persists. Interestingly, only at slow speeds - when I take off and maintain the vehicle at above 10mph, everything works fine. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be or what else I should be troubleshooting, this has really got us scratching our heads and with no solution in sight.

Im not pretending to know anything about these truck as I just started drving one.

Maybe disconnecting the battery to try and reset the computer?

Mine did that last year when I was driving in Colorado. It stopped when I went through a car wash and cleared the snow / slush / grunge off of the undercarriage. It will still disengage the cruise control when going downhill or going around a curve a little fast. So... I need to replace my wheel speed sensors...
