Any recommended easy rides for a stock 100 series in this area? Looking for somewhere to ride off pavement, get to know the capabilities of the vehicle, and otherwise enjoy some scenery.

have you checked out the clubhouse area (see tab at top of this page)....for GA.?

I know they have some organized rides every now and then and you'll probally find someone who has same interest in the local area.
 
There are lots of FS roads. I would highly recommend the back side of TRAY MT. which is a road called chimney mt road or something like that. It leads up to the AT. It also leads into other FS roads can be be joined for a great loop. You dont need any mods to run this and it has some nice views this time of year. This one also has very little brush which will leave scratches. It is a good starting point nothing hard and you should be ok to do alone.
 
On another note we are putting together a 100s ATL run which might be a good time to meet up and see some rides.
