Anyone know where one of these is? I know it's been covered a million times, but thought I would troll.

Dan, I tried to call you back late this evening.

You might look into the build thread DanHJ45 did on his father's rig. He used an 60 Series H55 and moved the engine up in the engine bay to align the tranny shifter. There are a few other benefits like the rear of the engine is easier to get to and it moves the turbo further away from the firewall to help with heat dissipation. You also can shorten the fan shroud a bit. Since you have to make and place B engine mounts, you could easily do this to place the engine with your transmission.

It's pretty easy to cut/rotate/weld the shifter rod to change from RHD to LHD and vice versa. I did it in my HJ45 to make a LHD shifter work for RHD. A good weld and a little grinding/sanding and you wont be able to tell it's been modified.

SOR has those in stock..pretty easy to get your hands on one of those I would think.. Dan at 4Wheel..just 2 that come to mind.

Kraig, thanks for the info..that's exactly what I wanted to talk about. I was planning on just moving the holes and maybe bending the shifter until you mentioned the turbo issue..no-brainer. I will use the front holes in the frame for the rear holes in my tranny mount, and move the whole thing forward. I can salvage my motor mount brackets and just move them a corresponding distance up thee frame. The only hard part is to keep them on the same plane.

Thanks,
D

Dan did an awesome job of doing just that. He knows exactly how to make sure everything lines up. I've even driven his rig and it purrs like a kitten (a really big kitten with a deeeeeep voice!).

So after further review, I can't use the front holes for the back holes in the bracket. It will change the geometry too much. I'll have to fiddle with it since I can't do any welding at this point. I will just have to mark and drill the holes to align properly..it would have been nice, but no one will see it when it's all done anyway.
