In the latest issue of the Overland Journal (Spring 2008) there is an article on repowering a 60 using an International HS 2.8 litre diesel. Apparently TLC has settled on this engine as their diesel powerplant for re-powers and is or has developed a kit for the process. It's not beats, the specs show 135 hp and 276 ft lbs of torque, but it is lighter than the 2F and suposed to get 20 to 30 mpg. They say nothing about legality in California - or a lot else about the swap.

Anyone know much about this engine?

Thanks for the link, I was hoping for something a little fresher.

The Overland Journal implied this was more cost effective than the Toyota diesel, but at that price it isn't.
I was hoping there was some new info available.

Also was wondering about legality in California which isn't mentioned in the thread or the article.
