Don't mind losing to the broncos, just the multitude of injuries was deflating. Have no idea on who will be qb next week. I say get Grice in there and run the ball hard between him and Ellington so Thomas can build some time to get comfortable.

Sounds like Peterson, Bethel may be back. Shaunnesy out along with Z our punter. Campbell a few games too

I think they also need to get TedGinn the hell off the field. He hurts us more than helps. Put Jaron Brown in his place imo.

The first three games or receivers caught everything, this game was absurd....8 dropped passes. Ugh

Oh well keep moving forward.

They also need to quit throwing so much at John Brown. He's a dynamo and a future star, but far to often he looks like a rookie and isn't ready for the ball. For every great play, he has at least one drop of a catchable ball.

We were at the game Sunday, beautiful day, nice stadium, fans were nice to us, it was as good a time that could be had with the loss. But you give Manning two weeks to prepare, combined with the critical drops (including Larry shocking as that is), mile high air (it wears down even pro-athletes that aren't used to it), defense on the field too long, 3rd string QB, and a very educated and loud local crowd . . . . . . too much to over come.
I asked a few fans if they thought they would beat us with Osweiller(sp?) or who ever their 3rd string QB was and their faces just glazed over . . . .
Looks like Dennis Dixon is our potential #2/#3 if Stanton or Palmer can't go. Hopefully Washington is beat up after the Shehawks, and their travel west is unpleasant.

ORR: You think they will go with Dixon or Thomas to start (if the others cant go)

Think they should go with Thomas these next 2 games, or at least vs Oakland, give him a chance to work out the obvious 'deer in the headlights' forced upon him, he could surprise....

He has a cannon for a arm that's for sure. Just work on the accuracy and knowing who and where at this point.

I'm guessing they signed Dixon over Lindley because they expect one of the other QBs to return.

I think Palmer is out of the mix. Unless he can throw over 100 balls in practice, they can't risk his arm regressing mid game. Stanton still hasn't cleared concusion protocol so we'll know about him today or tomorrow. Like the physical tools Thomas has but the game is still too fast for him. Can't read all the progressions and then tries to use his cannon to compensate. Arians will have to really dumb down his offense this week but the extra practice reps will be a big help. Dixon is the #3 for this week, or #2 if Stanton can't go.
The Washington team will put 8 in the box and make the Cards beat them with his arm. It'll be interesting.

If Stanton isnt cleared then I can also see that as a defensive game plan for the Skins. I can imagine BA has some plans for this - some simple screen passes, dinks and dunks over the middle? Hopefully with some mental planning and support this week he can settle down a little.

Logan has a whole lot of untapped potential but as you said: the game is too fast for him right now.

unrealistic but wouldnt it be cool if he lit it up for 400 yards?! yeah, I know, stop dreaming Murf~

There's some gamesmanship going on here. Mums the word on Stanton. For Dixon to play, they have to make a roster move, hasn't happened. Prolly won't know until the last minute.

It's not fair to evaluate Thomas on his play last week. He had little prep, receivers couldn't catch a cold last week. Being put in cold at the end of a big game on the road is the worst possible scenario. With a week of prep, he'll be a different guy, prolly not great but better.

I'll be at UOP stadium cheering whomever on. It feels like we can count on our distinct advantage at home and I'm looking forward to Sunday

Word is Stanton passed the concussion test. Yet to be determine if they'll risk putting him out there so soon after injury. It looked like he may have injured his elbow when he was hit, but there's been no mention of a problem.

For the life of me, I don't get all the Palmer hate out there. The dude is one tough hombre.

Good to see Fitz back in the game plan, the guy is still dangerous.

I agree Rob.

Fish half was nerve racking with the penalties and missed coverage and tackles in the backfield, but the 2nd was fun to watch...:bounce::bounce2:

Anyone notice the Browns pulled it off, Again, Lol!

Man, talk about entertainment!

Each home game is a nail biter to the end. Love the refocusing if the defense in the second half.

With the Seattle loss today, the Cards are tops in the division.

I hate to complain about a win, but their "just barely" act is going to bite them eventually. They really need to learn put an opponent down and step on their throats. I agree about the adjustments, this is one of the best coached teams in the league.

I'm not sure the cowgirls did them any favors. The cards may be in 1st but realistically, they are likely playing for a wild card berth. Having two good teams in what seemed to be a weak NFC East could derail their chances. Luckily, they get head to head match ups with all of them, so they have partial control over their destiny.

I'm with Rob on the "just barely" angle, when we have it 3rd and 1 (maybe 1.5) a first down wins the game. Why they called some wierd Palmer naked boot, and why they'd risk his further injury instead of just pounding the ball straight up inside is beyond me. Don't play not to lose, play to win. Offensive play calling was a little wierd all day. Why call several deep pass plays on 3rd and short? Especially with Palmer's condition. I was shocked they ended up throwing the ball 44 times with him. It did kill the QB controversy though. All being healthy it's still Palmer's team.

Don't get me wrong, a win is a win. And there are games in the middle of the season where teams will take the ugly ones. By now I'm used to staying at the games until the players leave the field.

They could really use a good short yardage RB. Ellington is great at a lot of things, but getting a tough yard or two isn't one of them. I thought Taylor would be that guy but it's not looking like it.

Great quote from BA today, "there's nothing you can learn from losing that you can't learn from almost losing."

Fun interview...
Sounds like Todd Bowles took over and remodeled the locker room at halftime and it showed in the second half.

Still am a vocal advocate of getting Marion Grice worked into the backfield with Ellington. Shifty like him but bigger and stronger... I agree with you BrotherRob, as much as I was hoping for Taylor to be the man, its looking more and more that he isnt suited for making great strides in the NFL.

Taylor is a solid special teams player, receiver and blocker, but his rushing leaves a bit to be desired. I'd love to see what Grice can do but he's still pretty small. I'd really like to see a Jerome Bettis type or Beanie Wells (when he isn't hurt and is motivated and/or pissed off), guys that can move the pile and put defenders on their asses. I'm surprised they haven't tried using Hughes in short yardage, he's a big boy and might do better in traffic.
