I saw this yesterday. Very interesting in light of the centers available in the draft and in FA. Not to question BA or Keim, but . . . . . it seems more like a desperate attempt to try to save some value in a top 10 pick. If Cooper doesn't work out at Center my guess is that he'll be cut in camp. That is one position we need to improve on. Maybe it's a new philosophy - "Next Position Up" - instead of "Next Man Up".

I think a #5 Staton jersey might be my next purchase . . . . love that guy!

If they can keep Jones, it could be a good trade. If not, it's a steep price to pay for a one year rental.

I hate to see Cooper go, he was showing signs of becoming a dominant run blocker. I don't often criticise BA but keeping Cooper on a short leash did him no favors. Hopefully, a change of scenery will do him some good.
 
I see it as a 3 year deal with Jones. We can franchise tag him for the next two years if a long term deal cant be hammered out in the meantime.

I hope for nothing but the best for Cooper but seems like he couldn't catch on after coming back from his broken leg. After starting 7 games and then get pulled in favor of average-at-best journeyman Guard Ted Larson is telling. Evidently due to continued mental errors concerning his assignments on the field.

CJ2K back with the Birdgang on a 1 year deal. Really glad to see that. He should be able to run free behind Iupati and Mathis. Now if we can pick up a Center in the 3rd round we should be set on the line. Johnson & Johnson should be able to go for 2K next season.

some of the talk is that the Cards will go after Alabama's Ryan Kelly the top center in the draft with our first round pick. Theoretically, With the intelligent Mathis between the new center and our first round pick last year DJ the right tackle, he would be like a coach on the field and help them grow.
Like we talk about frequently Norm, it all starts with the lines and this would be an impressive set up!

This was great news, he can also help keep the mustard fresh for the playoffs.
 
They need to shore up the middle of both lines and get a MLB and I like their chances.
