When I bought my cruiser, it had a after market radio in the area on the very top of the dash. In the slot below it next to the a/c and heat controlls, they have a crappy piece of plastic to cover up the hole. I have seen some pics of you guys dash's and they have a plastic pocket type thing there.

Was that stock? or was there something else there and you guys made a handy dandy little storage spot?

Where can I score one of these? And why the hell would the previous owner take that thing out to begin with.

Thanks james

ive got a cb in that spot. probably what your PO had there

in my 60 that spot was originally a tape deck. There is a stock "shelf" thingy that fits perfectly in there. I bought mine off the local cruiser shop for $25. I think it came out of an early 80's canadian bj60. Man-a-fre has tons of used stuff....

You mean "the useless shelf"?

doesn't quite hold anything. immediately dumps everything at the first uphill bump.

Don't waste your money on buying one. That area works well for guages, a cb, a switch panel.... lots of stuff, but not so much the shelf.

That's definitely a CB spot!

I put the Cobra 19 in mine. It doesnt fill the entire area, but close enough

Ditto what sandcruiser says. The shelf is only good as a shelf you can't use, save your money.

True true!! I always want it be useful and then end up picking it up off the floor........everytime!

Save the money and get slick inclinometer or cb

just my 2 cents

Yeah, put an inclinometer in there :D

No, the TLCA Lev-O-Gauge isn't still there too...

Did you have the pocket?

Check Ebay, I just saw a bunch of 60 stuff on there, including the pocket you are looking for. The guy selling everything is a Ih8mud member, his name is shmuckster. I bought a hood release cable from him. Easy sale, nice guy. Maybe shoot him a PM and see if he still has anything.

On the other hand, these guys are right. That cubbyhole is worthless, but better than a gaping hole in the dash.
