Reliable, most definitely. But that is a matter of opinion. The ability to get where you want to and back in a well maintained vehicle, it is. To say switches and antenna issue make it unreliable is expecting that a 16 + year old vehicle to still be warrantable. I bought a 97 in 2009 with 178k and knew what I was getting into. It needed maintenance. Replaced a ton and knew that the HG would be in the near future. Sure enough at about 216k, it started seeping. But with regular maintenance, it was caught and repaired and still going. I don't doubt it's ability and always keep an ear open when driving. It's better that the other vehicle with half as many miles that we have. The malfunction of a switch or antenna won't leave you stranded, just a nuisance in my opinion.
