Hi,
Im trying to fit 16" trd wheels onto a 73 series Landcruiser. Because of the offset, the front wheels are touching the suspension component

The guys selling the wheels recommended these spacers but they look a bit dodgy to me. The standard wheel lugs thread into the lugs supplied with the spacers.

Any advice is appreciated

Interesting design but I would definitely stick with the more traditional design, including the use of billet aluminum and quality, rated fasteners.

Thanks for the responses.

They do seem a bit risky and most companies in the US and Aus make them lik the image youve posted kbushnz

Those look really good. We dont have too many options here in Ecuador.

From what ive read up, it seems most of the vertical resistance is provided by the friction between the wheel and spacer and the spacer and hub. the studs are really for clamping pressure - like stiff springs. o

Im going to look for a set of spacers like the ones suggested above but if im not succesful, may consider using the ones i had originally posted

Appreciate the input

Those do look sketchy. The way "spidertrax" and "trail gear" (probably other companies also) make them is the tried and true way. Avoid ones that look like the style shown above (by @kbushnz ) but are of lesser quality. There are generic ebay ones that look nice and they are cheap but are not billet aluminum. I've seen many photos of those cheap ebay ones with cracks in them just from the pressure of bolting them on at the proper torque spec. Spacers are best avoided, but if you cant avoid them, get the best ones.

Yup yah need to be careful. they all look similar.

The ones I posted had the blurb...
"Bolt pattern is 6 stud on a 5.5" round circle. Features safety graded studs and matching nuts for proper fit. Made from Billet 6061-T6 aluminum. Grade 8 Studs, Grade 10.9 nuts. Six lug wheel spacers fit Toyota FJ Cruiser, Pickups, 4Runners, FJ-40, FJ-60 & FJ80."

Some use lower grade studs and alloy....

Im planning to put the aftermarket TRD 16X7.5 alloys on. The setback is not a correct fit so the wheel is rubbing on a suspension component

Even the traditional ones you should re tourque after the first 100 km of running them which requires removing the wheel then retourquing it and in another 100km re tourque the wheel again. Very few people do this but it is a recommended practice.

Even the traditional ones aren't all created equal some are junk. Those ones pictures I've never seen before.
