Are there still any free DVD burners out there

A few years ago I had a program, actually two, one to compress and the other to decompress and burn. All I remember about the programs is that one had a clown as a shortcut. That computer crashed and I am looking for a new program to copy my own personal homemade DVDs to give to family and friends. Can anyone recommend a free burner and or link to download one without getting a virus?

Not sure this will do everything you need but is what I use for burning ISO, etc.

windows 7 has the "feature" built in.

some of the older versions of roxio work very well, I've not tried any free software...there use to be a web site twocows tucows.com that had all kind of shareware...etc look around there.
