According to Arctic Trucks, there is a lot more done than just flares. Those are 35" tires on a custom 3" lift. There is another company that makes aftermarket flairs, but they are not any larger than the stock opening. To clear 35's you're going to need to do some cutting.

Also, without the ability to lift your LX, you can't go any larger than roughly stock, maybe a small 33.

self leveling hydraulic suspension

JB,
I don't need alot of height with my rig, I just want to make it have a wider track and protect the body work from mud and sandy mud with gravel that is slung from the tires, Nitto TGs are fine for traction in my usage. I like the way that the Arctic Truck mods make the 200 look like a retro-design of my 97 LX450. I might cut the fenders if it would give me more clearance without a lift and could be done without mutilating the fenders. I started in the 4x4 world with a 77 bronco. We did alot of fender trimming in those days. The bronco sure looked and performed better as well. We need tree limb clearance here in the muddy woods and I like to park my rig in the carport (low clearance). These hydraulic suspensions don't get the praise they deserve here MUD. I am crazy about the ride and drive quality difference. I experienced it first hand when I bought 2 07 Landcruisers, one with the system and one without. The steering, load leveling, towing ability, ride quality all is improved by the system. Now the 200 series has taken it even further with more heavy weight components and an even more refined ride and drive. My non-AHC 07 Landcruiser got traded in on the 200. Is there anyone on the site who has successfully modified the 200 height control system and been successful running 33s without going to aftermarket lifts? See my note in the 100 to 200 wheel swap thread. I think the system allows the use of a little larger aftermarket tire without modification because it adjusts itself to the tire after it's installed to a degree

There is no 200-series LC available with AHC. It's a lexus only thing.

If you are only looking for the flares, you can get some here. Personally I would hate these in the mud as it's already difficult enough to clean (impossible, actually -- you'll always find it hidden somewhere).

Bushwacker - Fender Results

These are for the LC200, not the LX. Finding mods for an LX is going to be next to impossible. The front end is slightly different on the LX, and therefore these may not work.

The new 2010 LC's can be ordered with factory flares in some locals. I have no idea if these would fit on an LX again, but if you got a dealership willing to order them using the VIN number from an LC that had them from the factory, they could order them as a replacement part.

Best of luck with the LX570 build, but I believe you are the only one with one (besides someone else whose dad owns one) on these forums.

I did not realize that it wasn't offered on LC anymore

Thanks JB for the info, I like the look of the Land Cruiser better than the LX 570, but I do like the hydraulics. I ended up with the LX 570 because I bought an 06 LX 470 used from a Lexus dealer. It turned out to be a previously wrecked and extensively repaired truck although they had represented it as unpainted and undammaged so I asked to return it, my trade was sold and this new 2010 LX was a deal because they were trying to clear up the issue. Now, I am the dad with the LX. I may have failed to mention that I am old and like the comfortable ride and handling. Still enjoy the trail.
Thanks,

Good deal. Carfax is everyone's friend :)

Tread lightly :steer:

Geologic...you may want to take a look at Procomp Alloys. They make a few wheels in the 8.5" range with a 12mm offset in our bolt pattern, back spacing is ample too. That would easily give you 1 to 1-1/2" extra wheel base on either side, making your track 3" wider (probably more). You could take it further and run a 295/65/18 Goodyear Duratrak...measuring at 33.1".

I'm sure the only rub you would have is with the front mudflaps upon full turn. That would be an easy fix. When you need the suspension travel and lift, your AHC system should easily allow enough clearance for 33s.

The cheaper way would be to outfit with the Duratraks, but instead of buying rims, run them on 18" OEM rims with spacers. They come in 1-1/4 to 1-3/4 range, you could widen your track by 3-1/2".

Good luck in finding an option.

Oh yeah, as far as fender flares go, get a buddy or helper to creap the truck forward, while you turn a bat under the fender...It always worked on giving plain Audis the widetrack look.

You may be joking

You may be joking but I bet there is someone out there that is talented enough to do just that and make it look factory, NOT ME though, I don't want it that bad! I looked at the flares that JB posted and they don't do what I want, I want to get rid of the ugly futuristic styled fender wells and add the over-sized flares that allow for a larger tire at lower stance. I want the retro look of the 80 series flares not these flattened ones that Toyota adopted for the 100 series! I will probably use my 18s off of the 07 if I don't find a better option. I am not sure that the wider track you suggested will work without rubbing but I may try it, thanks for the usefull info.

Carfax game

It had a clean Carfax one owner Lexus lease all service performed. I bought it in the rain and looked it over in a dark service drive, I should have checked it closer but relied on the documentation and the dealers guarantee. The new LX has different syling cues that don't do it for me but the performance is awsome coming from an 80 to 100 now 200.

Arctic Truck Conversion for Landcruiser 200

Hello,

We sell the Icelandic fender flare kit, suspension lift, gearing, and other parts necessary to do a conversion. We can also do the complete install for you.

Hope to talk with you soon!

SoCal-

1) can you ball park $ the arctic truck conversion?

2) how much higher is the seat bottom after conversion? Would you be worried about clients climbing in and out of the truck? Men, women, sometimes older people in their 50's and 60's.

Thanks,

dp

I run 35's and my little mom hops up in my rig. It's not the most professional vehicle to court you clients in, however if they know you then it's not that big of an issue.
Plus it's bad ass so they can deal with it.

I requested a quote for artic wheels and never got one.
