I finally pulled the plug on a RTT. Been looking and wanting one for years and now have one on the way. But, i needed to modify my ARB rack to fit it.

ARB makes a rack for their or anyone else's tents, but mine was not that model. After looking it over, i decided to chop up my perfectly good rack.

I needed 48 inches of no side rails and a nice flat surface.

What I decided to do was use a plasma cutter to cut the rail and the rail brackets off. But, as you can see from the white lines, we left about 3 inches of the outter part of the bracket in place. I then decided to hammer it over and weld it flat.

Here is how it started:

After hacking the top off, i then decided to bend the tubes down and weld them back to the main rail. Those tubes were a lot stronger then i thought :censor:

I then used a silver hammer finish paint to paint everywhere to keep it from rusting. The paint was a real close match with the original color of the rack from ARB.

Here is the finished product.
