I am currently restomodding my 1984 LandCruiser FJ60. I have purchased an Aussie Locker originally for the rear. Recently I have come across two New Old Stock ARB Locker for a good price. I would have to install them and they would not be covered under warranty. They are both the RD-08 model locker. According to a PDF file I found online the RD-08 only fits the rear semi-floater. I thought I had read somewhere that the rear locker could be used on the front axle but not vice-versa because of the C-Clip issue. So my first question is can the RD-08 be used in the front axle of my cruiser.
If the RD-08 will not fit the front, what are ya'll's opinion on putting the ARB in the rear and putting the Aussie Locker up front. I have the 2wd Low option so on the trail I could always disengage the front to turn. I'm just trying to find out how much of a pain it would be to have the autolocker up front.

Thanks a lot,

They will work fine. Get the updated oring seals and you are good to go.

Yes, the RD08 can go in the front ( is on mine, in add'n to the RD08 in the rear).

You just can't put the full-float locker in a semi-float axle, it has no provisions for c-clips, so it won't keep the axles in the housing.

The only diferente between the RD-02 and RD-08 lockers models are the center block .. you must nedd to remove it to fit in your front axle.
