Anyone have any insider scoop on this yet?

ARB won't tell us anything about this unit.

There is no eta as far as I know.

It is because of the kdss thingy from what they tell me.

I would have to call BS on the kdss excuse. Is there a front locker for the prado/gx470/120 series with kdss?

Nope they don't. Not as far as the vehicle application guide on the ARB USA website says.

Interesting.

Well just called Mark over at ARB USA. No idea what is taking longer with the front locker. The rear is the same as previous models, so it was just a matter of making sure it fit.

The front, they don't know.

They gave the excuse of: "Not alot of demand here in the US"

So it is probably in line for testing, but who knows when.

Oh well......

Not a lot of demand... yet.

A lot of us 100 guys have blown our front diffs.

Not fun, or explainable to the "Boss."

I should have replaced my blown front with a locker, which I didnt... yet.

Update: According to ARB USA this morning, the part number is RD141. It's the same 34 spline from the Tundra. They are taking orders soon.

Slee: Do you know if you can order these yet? Cost?

EDIT: They also have a dual battery system under development (meaning it could be years away...). Part #:4315010 if you want to keep an eye on it.

very kewl~!
Good info!

FWIW on a 100, I got a quote from my man Chuck at OK4WD in NJ:

The lockers are $850.00 each plus $150.00 for the compressor. Labor for the rear is $469.00 the front is $700.00 and the compressor install is $316.00. I chose the ARB lockers because TJM is no longer available in the States. Let me know.

I was looking into TJM too, but obviously they bailed on the US of A. Rats.

I think I got the last tyre carrier for my bumper.

In hindsight, I wish I had done this mod. Blowing my front diff at Yankee Toys Fall Gathering was not fun.

I drove home in a Tercel...

As soon as part numbers are available we can place orders for the item. It gets allocated on a first come, first serve basis when the stock arrives.

Holy crap! Is installing a locker really that expensive??? I better call and get an install quote for my rear

I'm doing all the electrical and plumbing myself, so I just need them to slap the thing in.

Dude you are crazy to attempt it yourself.....IMHO :flipoff2:

dtt255, you have the rear locker, right? did you notice that it made a big difference? the LC has all that electronic crap that my old 4runner didn't have, and i definately would have put a locker in it had i kept it.

Yes there is a difference.

You can shut off all the electronic stuff so that is not really an issue. The issue is if you FORGET to shut it off and engage the lockers and then try to figure out things aren't going the way they are supposed to....ummmmmmmmm not that I EVER did that!!!:bang:

Please try that and tell us what happens. )

What do you turn off? Do you turn off TRC and hold VSC for 3 seconds in 4LO with CD locked?

According to ARB, the LC200 is the same front diff as the Tundra (34 spline). On LCCOOL, however, I just read that the front is actually 1/2" larger than the Tundra. I'm confused as supposedly over in AU they have the RD141 available.
