ARB Front diff lock

Was thinking of putting a ARB front diff lock on the FJC10. Is it a good mod to go with? Currently have 3" lift with Icon w/ All-Pro UCA's. 4.56 gears with 33x11.5 KM2 on the corners. Also have a 10K Engo winch on the front. Have stock E diff lock w/ A-trac. Does anybody have any experience with them? Use the FJ for daily driver and URE is the gnarliest I have been on. What are the thoughts?

Hind sight says, should have installed it when you re-geared, much cheaper as a whole package. IMO
That being said, as long as you be respectful of the skinny pedal and the fact that your IFS, a front locker is very helpful when your wheeling.

^^ X2, it can be a valuable asset, used judiciously. ATRAC and the rear locker will get you out of 90% of obstacles, when using the front locker, one must be careful to not use the skinny pedal enough to buy some new parts for the front drivetrain...
 
I love my ARB front locker but it depends on what kind of wheeling you're going to do. A front locker is like an easy button when you're climbing steep/tall rocky ledges for example, it will pull you right up. Also great in off-camber situations where opposite-corner wheels are in the air. Less useful for other kinds of obstacles.

Like Jerry and others said, know the limitations of a locked front - you pretty much have to use it only when the front wheels are pointed mostly straight and can remain that way while locked. For one thing, the truck won't steer for s*** when the front is locked. For another, forcing torque to a wheel that is turned sharp or bound-up in a hole is a quick way to break a CV. Use it judiciously and un-lock it as soon as possible.
