I’m trying to figure out if this ARB compressor is a 12V or 24V compressor. It was pulled out of a 1997 LX450 which is definitely 12V, but has a dual battery system in it. The compressor is marked as a 24V but the switch is marked 12V and the truck is 12V. So I’m confused. A quick google search of the part number pulls up 12V compressors, but none have the same part No.

My suspicion is that it’s either a 12V compressor with a 24V sticker on it or someone wired the dual battery system in series to power this thing.

Can anyone help confirm what voltage this compressor is?

The switch does not mean much I would think. If you can't get a definitive answer (did you try ARB tech support?), I would open it up and look at the motor markings.

I have not contacted ARB at this point. I was hoping one of our MUD Gurus would have the answer

well, considering the originating situation, it could well have been tampered with. The 24V label looks to be original (if not exactly typical OEM quality), though.
Strange that there would not be any outside label telling you what current etc to expect for fusing.
But if had 2 batteries, I would probably be tempted as well to use a 24V compressor for better performance so 24V seems possible.
Are the power wires 12AWG?

The wiring is 12AWG. I’m assuming that it’s 12V and someone may have put the 24V sticker on it as a joke or something. I’ll probably hook it up to a jump box this week and see what happens.

here is a pic I saw showing what seems to be the same 24V sticker as yours, so could well be genuine:

and 12 gauge is not that generous for a 12V compressor I think, those could easily draw 30A. But probably would be fine for a 24V compressor.
FWIW, I'd be careful about putting a 24V compressor on a 12V source.

It's 24v. I have a couple of these.
