So are they supposed to be turn signal lights or light up when ever the lights are on?

I wired mine to come on with the other stock marker lights. I have heard of people wiring them in with the blinkers too. Whatever you prefer.

I wired mine to the blinkers...kinda that disco effect where they blink alternately with the lights on...but WITH the blinkers when lights are off.

I found that they would get very HOT if wired to the marker lights. I would say that they would melt the lense.

I would like to run mine as marker lights. Is there a better choice for bulbs to prevent any chance for melting the lenses? Has anyone ran LED bulbs and do they have a part number?
It is a standard bulb (1156 or 1157) I believe. You can find LED replacement bulbs for these all over the internet.
Thanks NorCal. I'll try that to be safe. I've heard of people melting the lenses and I don't want to risk it.
Just get the smallest watt bulb you can find that fits and I think you will be fine. I used the bulbs that came with my bumper from ARB. I will check tonight and make sure the lenses have not melted inside and see what bulb they came with.

I wired mine in as marker lights then I got to thinking, you know those are really bright, then I noticed no one on the road seemed to have yellow lights in the front. As long as there is not a law against it, marker lights are fine with me. If someone finds a bulb P/N with less wattage or LED please post up.

Old thread but my ARB bumper is less than two years old, wired as marker lamps, just noticed both lenses have melted and deformed, bulbs ARB supplied.
