I have a chance to pick up a 10,500 lb Mile Marker hydraulic winch for a reasonable price. I already have an arb bumper on my FJ62 with space for a winch. How easy is it going to be to install the Mile Marker winch? Are mounts standard amongst the various winches?

Thanks in advance.

A quick search shows that they have a 4.5" x 10" bolt pattern, which is what the ARB has (early anyway). I couldn't find a dimensional diagram, but it looks like a compact winch. See if you can find out how far the winch extends to either side of the mounting bolts and make sure you have the side clearance to accomodate, I would think you will. I measure about 6" of side clearance on the NA passenger's side and 8" on the NA driver's side. FWIW it took a bit of clearancing on the passenger's side and the removal of one light/antenna tab to fit a 8274 into my old style ARB.

Thanks RockDoc. My Arb bumper has the 4.5" x 10" hole spacing. It is offset to the passenger side a bit but looking at a Mile Marker winch, you need less space on the passenger side as the motor stick out more on the driver's side.

Based on the asking price, I think I'll take a chance and get the winch. After all, I can always make it fit. That's what big hammers are made for :D
