I have a 1995 KZJ73... Called ARB to see which bumper fits my LC.
Was told Model#3412130 fits my LC.
Just got it... And its about 2 inche to high. Do I cut the Body to make it fit.. or cut the Bullbar. It rubs on the sides of the body just ware it curves twords the wheel well.
Need some advise so I don't ruin anything.
Any Ideas??

After purchasing the same, I was told to cut the bullbar wings.
Ended up swapping bumpers with my son, as his didn't require cutting to fit my 78.

Ok, so you think it's better to cut the wings down about 2-3 inches then cutting the Truck.
Thats what I was thinking too.
I hope I get more feedback so I'm comfortable with my decision.
Thanks M8

Definitely cut the wings on the bumper. I installed the same bumper this spring and posted some photos here:

I have since put 1/4" steel plate shims between the top of the frame and the bumper to space the bumper up as high as it would go. That helps the top bar of the bumper to clear the headlight beam.

The Bumper is to high by 2-3 inches.
I need to find a way to either lower the truck brackets or cut the Bullbar.
Any Ideas?.
When I line up the brackets.. The wings hit the side of the fenders because it's to high.

I looked at the pictures. Can you send me some pics of the sides so I see how its going to look.
I have that exact problem.
I had to re-read the post And look back at the pictures to understand.
How did you measure the amount to cut?
Any extra info will really help.
Thanks!!

Dumb question... But I contacted ARB-USA And they said that This model would just Bolt on... Is this common with The KZJ73 Body style ?

That model bumper is designed for the narrow nose HD 70 series that has no turn signal lights under the headlamps. As none of these 70's came to the US... ARB-USA isn't likely familiar with the differences.

Coastal Off-road (they don't seem to know the difference either) has one that is designed for your vehicle. Not sure if they have a full bullbar version.

Thanks. I'm taking it to a Shop to have an extension added to the frame and have The Bullbar Bumper cut and shaped to size. I don't have the equipment to do it myself.
The Full Bullbar is what I need in my area as Deer Strikes are common, so I need the protection..... Sucks.. but looks like my only choice.

I would be putting it back on them.

What other Bullbar would fit? Is there another that will give me that kind of protection.
I looked... And ARB was the best choice. I'm between a Rock and a Hard Place.... I'll price it out.. if it's a Crazy price.. then I'll return it and stick with the Original.
The Store ( 4 Wheel Parts ) in Richmond.. doesn't have The most knowledgeable Staff. That's why I called ARB - USA and explained the LC year and Model. The one ARB recommend is the one I Purchased.
Man.... I'm pissed & stumped.

Here’s a side and front photo to show how mine lines up now.

The frame extension isn’t necessary, just trim the wings off the bumper and it will fit.

Yes, the holes all line up with the captive nuts in the frame:

ARB make bullbars for Toyotas all over the world and I would bet they make one for your model. They should have known that and ARB in Australia should be making sure their agents know what they are selling. Go around ARB USA and get in touch with head office in Australia. You shouldn't have to start cutting things because they f***ked up. ARB are fairly protective of their name and my guess is they will do something to rectify it.

I ordered mine from Cruiser Outfitters. When received I contacted them about the fitment, and they confirmed the ARB 70 series bumper would have to be cut for a 78 series.
Ended up swapping bumpers w/ my son. His Dobinsons bumper fit the 78 without cutting.
The ARB seems a bit more stout than the Dobinsons.

There you go, Dobinson is another option. There is a vendor here that gives discounts to mud members..... I think.

Shyrock,
Thanks... I'm going to have the ARB cut to size in about 2 weeks.
I'll post pics of how it turns out.
That looks like my best bet.
