he went all the way to the South side of L Tahoe. In Kirkwood now.

Any way to show the track instead of just the current position... ?

need an NMEA output on the GPS I guess for APRS ?

http://www.db0anf.de/hamweb/aprsdb/showdata/N6KML/shmovements

shows his track (straight line segments between his various position updates). Though the data on the link will change next time his aprs sends new updates.

APRS data can be sent via different interfaces/trackers etc.

I have a home built unit that consists of a Sirf III GPS module that interfaces directly to a uController with my own firmware that generates the 1200 baud tones and the output plugs into the mic/ptt interface on my HT's or my mobile rig. On 2m you tune the radio to the packet frequency 144.39MHz.

There are various "tracker" units you can buy that you plug the nmea output (rs232) of your GPS into. There's also some Kenwood units with built-in TNC's that you can hook your GPS to.

Lot's of ways to do it. Obviously only works if you have APRS digipeaters/gateways etc that can 'hear' your signal.

cheers,
george.
