Quite the day on Frosty Park (FS Road 379). We found deep snow above the switchbacks, around where Eagle Rock road intersects with 379. With some shoveling, the big tire rigs cut through drifts and we could all proceed. We reached a point where the road was a lengthy stretch of off-camber, with consecutive drifts one after another. This is the spot we decided to stop trying to break through.

The snow drifts occurred before the most recent storm (Friday into Saturday morning). That "old snow" was probably 6" deep in most places, with drifts approaching 20" (some were close to knee deep). The new snow was merely 3 to 4 inches deep.

We pulled back to a clearing and broke out the grills and food! We had New Brunswick stew, Beef brisket tips in mac-n-cheese, and grilled cheese sandwiches. We had lots of sides, too, such as roasted Hatch green chilis, chips, etc. Robert (from Ute Pass Iron Goats) brought a big Italian sub sandwich with some kickin' horseradish.
