Jerod, with all of the rain and snow that has hit us in the past week or so, how do you think the water crossing is going to be?

It's looking like we will not be making it after all, there is still a slight chance but not looking good. Sorry guy's I was really looking forward to this trip.

SO its Thursday, Who is going and when? How many people/rigs are meeting at the Shell on Saturday morning @ 0830???

Im still planning on being at Shell 0830.

Wondering about the river cross'n as well. Haven't had a chance to extend my breathers.

Last J mentioned it wasn't even worth mentioning. With all of the recent rain I would imagine it is higher but I would think it's still reasonable. Now I'm by no means an expert and don't know the area that well so wait to hear from J for the final word :D

Hey Mudders!
How far is it from Rogue River to the Shell stn. in Yreca.
Trying to estimate get up and on the road time.
Thanks

Al

Fun! :D Hehe I doubt it'll be more than 2 feet. I'm going to call a friend over there and ask him what the river looks like, If you haven't extended your breathers it's not a big deal, just ease into the water so that your diffs cool off and "sucks in" before the water is over the breather. You shouldn't have any trouble.

T, sorry to hear you'll be missing out man! We'll see you sometime soon.

Saturday!!!!!!

So, the northerners are meeting at the South Ashland exit Shell station at 8:30.

I'll be waking up at about 9:45, wait... Ashland is only... 45 minutes away... (carry the one) I don't get to sleep in that late... maybe I'll get up at 9.... Sounds more like you'll be getting to Yreka around 9:15-9:30ish... So anyone wanting to meet in Yreka should be there by 9:30. We will meet at the south Yreka exit #778. Take the exit and go right to the stop light then left at the light. I'll be waiting on the side of the road a few hundred yards up past the Burger King. (If for some reason I'm not there, stop just past the burger king and call me...) We will make a final stop for gas in Etna (about 40 minutes from Yreka) So no need to fill up in Yreka.

In Etna we'll meet the Western party (Russ) at the gas station around 10:15. So get out the door by 7 Russ! :D And I mean "the" gas station. If you're lost in Etna just ask someone where The gas station is... :D

There will be no Southern Party, Brian just started a new job this week, and Tony's parents are in town, so they are out. If you do live to the south and want to join in, be at the gas station in Etna by 10:15!

Russ, on your way up from Weaverville you'll go through Callahan and head north to Etna, the gas station is on your right as you get into town on HWY 3, if you hit a stop sign/"merge to the right" intersection, you've gone a 1/4 mile too far.

From Etna we'll head southwest towards Sawyers Bar (There's no bar, so don't get excited) (well there is a bar but it's not operational... besides we're not going there anyway...) It's about a 45 minute drive from Etna to the mining claim and it's over a 6000 ft pass, so make sure your brakes are in good working order, and use a low gear on the way down!!! It's steep and windy, and there's very few places I'd like to go off that road...

Anyone coming late who needs directions, please pm me and I'll get them to you, I don't want specific directions on the internet. If you do not fall into the Norther or Western party please contact me ASAP so we can get things squared away.

Any questions? :flipoff2:

A-O Jerod, back from Oz... you little....:grinpimp:
OK, back on the farm:doh: Highway 3 north of Trinity Center. Since they don't plow on weekends, is there any concern at this time?
Talked to one of the guys in public works for Siskiyou county and he didn't think there'd be any snow but suggested calling CAlTRANS. They only say(recording) that there's no plowing on weekends and nights.
Sooo, I hope I don't have to get up xtra early to make the bigger swing east to catch up.:hmm:
You might PM me with actual directions and a cell just in case.:whoops:
Planned on leaving around 6 so I'll have plenty of time to doddle on the way.
Actually never been north of Trinity Center on 3.

What's the plan for din din? "Joint or disjointed"? I know, sounds funny but I'm from Humboldt.
Just the culture.

Weather's looking better by the day. Looking forward, OH Baby!
