I think we are also going to have to leave on Saturday... Unless SK is going to meet us out there.

Or ride down with Tyler or Nick..... :hmm:

I'm still not sure if I'll be able to make it or not. Gotta figure out the :princess: schedule.

If I come without the :princess: it'd be on Friday as I may have to work on Sun (unless I can get the time off).

If the :princess: comes she'd have to get Friday off....

Well if I'm the only one coming on Friday then maybe I'll just wait.... :p We'll see what the southern boys are doing first though.

Still waiting for CalTrans to clear the road. The long way around would be...long.
Jerod, do you have the long and lat on the claim. Be easier to find it on a map and plot an alternate route.

Don't know the lat long, but it's 5 miles north east of Sawyers Bar, or 20 miles south west of Etna. It's right off the paved road. Probably your best bet would be to go through Weaverville and up past Trinity lake to Etna then over the mountain. It's about 130 miles the short way and about 200 miles the long way around. So probably add a couple hours each way.

Hey Russ. Ishi Pishi road isn't that bad to get around the slide. It's certainly MUCH quicker than running the long way around through Weaverville.

Sounds like a fun trip. Wish I could go and meet y'all!

Shweet! I'll check that out. OOps, just did and looks like a keen way to get around the slide.
Thanks.

The slide on 96 isn't the problem, there is a second slide between Somes Bar and Forks of Salmon on a very narrow section of road. I just heard that the crews have just started working on the second slide and there may be damage to the road bed so it could be months before that road is open. There is no good way around the second slide. Weaverville is the shortest option unfortunately...

Looks like I'm in. Al talked me into it. Hopefully my rig will be done by then. It is stuck up at metal tech trying to get my bent housing fixed. Mark's put in 2 housing and so far both of them were bent!!! He's on the 3rd one, so keeping my fingers crossed. Then he'll put my sliders on and sure enough, I had new rear locker installed. Got lucky and put the bill onto my car insurance as an accident, which isn't exactly a lie. SO, if I can get my rig back and my AC work done, I will be there as a pre-trial before going to Moab.
