I just got one for my 2016, so hopefully I can install it next week or 2.

The instructions are there for the wire connections but weak instructions as to where to put the unit in the vehicle.

I put mine on the floor against the center bump on passenger side so you don’t have to remove the entire dash if need adjustments or a firmware update. I put the usb input in place of 12v cig lighter adaptor next to the wireless charger. I had to buy a round usb interface thingy.

Initially after install while in Apple Car Mode and Birdseye view is activated it would cause the Lexus system to freeze and will require a reboot. A firmware update fixed the issue. After the initial firmware update lost aux functionality and sound in ACM. All were fix after 2nd firmware update. No functionality lost with Lexus system and no additional mic needed. The only quirks is you have to use the joy stick up/down button to go up/down tracks. You can’t use up/down steering control while in ACM mode to do ACM functions. Which is fully disclosed on their web site.
Sorry what’s ACM?

Wait, is this working on a Landcruiser? I have a 2020 and was told they didn’t have it ready yet.

I thought apple car came with 2019?? At least with a software update from the dealer. I know at least an option with the LX.

I am getting it installed on my ’16 LC on Dec 26th I will post results

Spoke with these guys on Facebook, Custom Car Stereo Systems from Australia:

Apparently their system is compatible with the US LC200's, syncs well hardware wise, fairly plug and play, plus some configurability processing power wise. They were very responsive on their Facebook page and helped make sure I was compatible and that they would ship to the US. It seems to also connect to the rear screens (Netflix while driving, etc). Price wise doesn't seem too bad either at around the $1500-1700 mark plus shipping.

I don’t see the point when we now have a straight up CarPlay almost OEM solution, gimmicks rarely work well

Do you mean the Beatsonic kit? It appears to be Lexus-only, has anyone tried it in the LC200, specifically '16+? Curious about it.

I have been in regular contact with Sam Cho at Beatsonic, including an email today. They have no timeline when we might see a LC200 version.

I'll still wait and hope, as I don't want to install a separate mic like the Aus version has, and the Beatsonic is substantially cheaper if they ever get around to making it compatible.

Beatsonic is almost OEM, if you could get over the fact you have to listen to Apple Car apps while in apple car mode. You can’t listen to satellite radio while in Apple car, instead you have to listen to the app or iTunes and you can not use steering wheel up/down track controls. A lot of times I have Waze app on the screen and listening to the sat radio and cannot hear waze prompts but when I need to I just switch it over to aux and hear waze and others. So it works as a mirror device as well. Using the joy stick as a controller take some time to get used to but it works good.

FYI not affiliated with BeatSonic at all, just appreciated the fact that they were very helpful and like to give the credit.

I would pay stupid money for this. It's super inconvenient in the mornings.

1) Plugging the phone.
2) Selecting the audio Source.
3) Selecting the Audio Book.

First world problem if any, but I lose at least 5 mins everytime I get on the car setting it up so I can listen to what I want.

No. The Land Cruiser and LX do not support Apple Car Play from the factory.

Messaged Beatsonic, they said to check back in 2 months on the Apple CarPlay + Android Auto offering for the Toyota LC200 (not sure if all generations or ‘16+).

With the $600 price point for the Lexus lineup they have currently, and $500 for the Toyota Entune 2.0 and 2.5 model, the price point is super fair for a full CarPlay/Android Auto conversion that integrates with factory controls and can switch back to factory infotainment at anytime. Maybe others can share the real world usability (lag, glitchiness, audio, connectivity, etc).

Very excited to see what comes out after 2 months.

LSAILT from China is around $400. They have a new version that is plug and play. The best way to buy is though alibaba.com. I have tried their earlier version and they were very responsive and we did some live troubleshooting as well. Problem with earlier version was that it was using ribbons that need to connect to the unit for the touch. That has some issues so returned it. The new version is not plug and play.

Hey all, i'm 62 owner lurking over here like a total creep. Well actually i just had my second kid and I think i'm going to make the leap to the 200.
However, Apple Carplay makes my life so much better, i'm looking at all the options.
I emailed Beatsonic and they got right back to me, said they were working on a 2013 LC option and to check back in 2-3 months. They said its specifically for the 2013-2015 and 2020-2021 model years.

Anyway, hope that helps.
