I’m doing some research hoping to do a nav to non nav conversion and debating between the Tesla style or a true non nav conversion. I’d like to have physical AC buttons so I’m hoping to do a true conversion, but the type of unit that I get is also important. I really like how the 9” Android screens look from AliExpress however I use an iPhone so I want CarPlay. Upon doing a search, I came across the link below on AliExpress. It says it’s another 9” Screen made for the GX/Prado that runs on an android operating system, however this one says CarPlay is supported. Does anyone know if this truly does Apple CarPlay? It’s a bit more expensive than the other one but could be worth it. Any insight greatly appreciated.

Once you do true non nav you are free to change to any unit you want. Tesla style are OK but who knows 5 years down the road. Android version might not be compatible anymore. But most people don't own the car more than 5-7 years so maybe it's not your problem.

I have wondefoo unit. It's OK after messing with it for months. First they sent wrong Canbus adapter. Second the front camera power wire are missing in the harness. Getting support is ridiculous since their English is definitely lacking, as they sent another harness instead of canbus adapter and a camera instead of sending camera sub harness😂

The harness they provide are actually plug and play. Don't have to wire special connections beside plugging in camera

I got the $358 unit
| PX6 CAPLAY Android 10 Car radio FOR Toyota LAND CRUISER 120 Prado 120 2003-2009 navigation audio autoradio no 2 DIN android DVD

Joying seems to be a lot more consistent.
PX6 or higher is definitely recommended

Mine supposed to be able to connect to carplay. It is not native as it goes to zjinova adapter. I don't have any apple products. Tried to connect using my wife's work iPhone 7 and cannot get it to work. There are a lot of other people that bought one at same time at GXOR and they say their carplay work fine.

Woah cool, thanks for sharing those other options. I didn’t see those in my search, that’s what I was looking for. I know the more mainstream brands (pioneer, alpine, Sony etc) are good but I don’t like the deeper fitment with the smaller screen and extra bezel and such so I may try one of those. Main thing is finding the HVAC for my 2005. Did you do the conversion or did you already have a non nav? I’m hopefully going to have mine for a while so hopefully one of these will last. Thanks for the info.

I don’t have FB but there was a post on gxor with an 05 hvac set up.

I have to do the conversion. Adonis from GXOR is definitely makes this conversion real easy. He he even hook me up with the HVAC controller.

Wow nice. I’ll definitely hit him up. In addition to the HVAC unit/brackets/bezel, do you need special wiring harnesses or anything?

I also got the wondefoo unit. Did you ever get your front camera working? I'm curious to know how everything is wired up.

Front camera is working after I add the missing power cable from the harness. You need to power the camera from the head unit. I believe it was Connector F pin #4. Mine was missing the wire and have to add it to make it to work.

Once wired you could see the image thru FCam app. You can also set automatic timer for for long you want the front camera to come on from car setting menu.
