After so much trouble searching for an Apple CarPlay system that could be installed in my 02 Land Cruiser with the old navigation, I am happy to say I found something out there.

Naviks the company has a car play system that integrates very well with the old navigation. Previously, you would have to go about doing a navigation delete since that AC is integrated within the old navigation. The Apple CarPlay Bluetooth works very well and in the future, I am looking to add a back up camera as well. This thread is so exciting because I have been searching to integrate an Apple CarPlay system and it actually is possible for these old navs!

(Listed in the picture below is a small button. I’ve inserted to change over to the Apple CarPlay)

Enjoy you guys!

I too am curious about this....I sent an inquiry to the company for more info, I'll report back what they say. If in fact this is "plug and play" and causes no other issues......I'm very interested. The price point seems strong, but if it would really work on my '06 it's an option.

Our unit lets retain all factory equipment like the screen and
navigation system and all Carplay/Android Auto. The hardware is attached
to the car using plug and play harness no cutting or splicing. If you
want to use the buttons on the steering wheel to change tracks one wire
will have to be spliced if you are ok using the touchscreen to change
tracks you dont need to splice any wires. Please watch this
demonstration video ( https://youtu.be/oVEjbJgwoRM ), please let me know
if you have any questions. Thank You

I would possibly be interested, but I don't see any installation instructions or videos. And it seems pretty pricey at $850, unless I'm looking at the wrong unit?

Have you looked at the GROM units? I am under the impression that they work the same way, e.g. plug and play and using the stock touchscreen.
