If any of you 80-Series guys are looking for NICE used ARB, Bobby @ The Cruiser Co. has one in his shop he's been trying to get rid of for awhile. I was reminded of it while there early this morning getting a power steering reservoir cap from under the hood of one of his parts 80's (with his permission, not :poof:). He had quoted me and Jay $500 for it, but that was over a year ago--so you might could get it for less than that even. It appears that it's been sitting inside the whole time he's had it.

Just thought I'd pass it along. Carry on!

**Edit: Maybe this should have gone in the classified section. Move it if you wish. JWP
Here's a newbie question for you guys. I have been eying this same bumper out at Bobby's trying to get some cash together. Do I need a suspension upgrade before I throw this much weight on the front? THANKS

If you are running stock size tires or 265s, you would probably be ok as long as you ran it without a winch. If you are stock and running 255s, 285s, etc., then it might not work. These are my thoughts. I'm sure someone else will chime in.

I would say you at least need some 30mm spacers to help make up the difference. Metal Tech and Slee as well as others have them available. I made my own...

From what I've seen, the difference in a medium and heavy lift spring is the extra height on the heavy.

Finally saw first episode of that Alaska off road show. If you saw it, what are your thoughts? Like the Pig, and some of the off road action, but not sure I can hang in there... Too much TV involved, if you know what I mean.

I've seen plenty of stock 80's run this ARB--most without a winch though. However, like others have said, the suspension droop issue will need to be addressed. And the easiest, cheapest way to deal with it is to add coil spacers up front.

Good luck. I hope you end up with it!

I had to turn the volume WAY down to watch. Guess they had to find total D-bags so the normal viewer would enjoy. I do like the Pig and the sas'd runner tho. Super Heep is exactly that...

I watched one episode online last night. I was just jealous of that experience. How awesome would that drive be?!? I hope they took some time to enjoy the surroundings.

I figure the only way I will be able to watch more episodes is to make liberal use of the fast forward button...

It was tough to stick with it. Volume down. Yankee redneck is a dialect that I am not a fan of. Way too much tv trying to make drama. A documentary would have been a lot cooler. Like the old Camel Trophy coverage. There was a cool Land Rover show on the continental divide I remember watching years ago.

^^^I apologize in advance for using TWO Land Rover references.

Mark-X2 on the Super Heep appears to be a huge pile. It looks like the frame was bent in the middle. Who knows...

And on the Off Road Alaska show: The Southern Cruiser clubs could do a much better show! Lord knows we have enough characters!

I watched the second episode last night. I don't know how much more I can take. Bunch of tools, that I can't believe they made a show with.

Yeah Lance, makes the off road community look ignorant. Then again, most of what's on TV is trash anyway. Wish we had better representation.

I couldn't get over how they seemed to make mountains out of mole hills... I know there is more extreme stuff to get fired up about than what they were showing.
