Hello. Just seeing if there is anyone out there doing some free lance wheeling in Ct. or S. West mass on the weekends? I'm looking for someone who has somewhere in mind to go. Private land or other. Would be great to see something new.

I sometimes go wheeling with some guys from the 4Runner forum. They usually go up to NH or Pine Barrens in NJ, but for the last 2 weeks they went somewhere CT near the casinos off of 395. I believe it's in or near Pauchaug St forest. I'll PM you the details

Nice. Thanks Will

Having a problem sending you a PM haven't heard from anyone yet but they meet up at Tractor Supply in Putnam then head out to the trails. I 'll try calling during lunch.

Still having technical difficulties, cant sens out any PM. Go to tacomaworld forum. Look under regional discussion, then northeast, then northeast area wheeling trip plans.

Not to rain on your parade but there is very little legal wheeling in CT.

You can drive on state forest roads or class VI roads, some which go through state forest. You cannot drive on state forest trails.

Check over on the NEA4WDC site: http://forum.nea4wd.org/

for more information on legal places to wheel in CT.

Paine Hill Road in Union, CT is legal but I believe you need to contact the local DEEP office as it runs through the Nipmuck State Forest. Google it. There is also access from MA on Union Rd, even though the map does not show it.

Yeah I know.... Ct is very good at locking gates. When I was young (about 15 yrs ago) I lived right by a resovoir and it was big big on wheeling. Trucks there all the time with tons of good trails. These days they trenched out all the sides of the roads so its impossible to make it in the woods. Seems to be the case with all the state parks. I'm not into just going and wheeling and shredding land but its fun just to explore. There are soooo many trails on powerlines here in CT. Too bad those werent ligit. Hoping someday they open up all the trails in mass for trucks and not just quads and bikes. Maybe you never know. I did reg. my truck in MA last yr as a quad so that says its looking up. I guess. My son is 2 yrs old and I really hate the thought of raising him where everything is off limits. Who I am today is because of the land I was able to use as a kid, drive to the gas station on my sled or quad and cops not even bother. My brother is 10 yrs younger than man and grew up in the same house. Cant tell you how many times my mom was telling off cops for them messing with him on his dirt bike. My mother was so pissed. Dead end road in the middle of nowhere. Oh well thats my rant.
