Anyone ventured to a duramax in the 60?

Dunno if it will work, but several cummings have been done with severl write ups on here. Looks sweet. I would also be curious as to if a Powerstroke would work as well? Mainly just curious as I love the 3fe auto combo :)

That conversion is being worked on as we speak in Aus. in an 80 series. I see no reason why a Duramax would not fit. It is dimensionally smaller than a BBC and I know that fits. The only issue I see is the intercooler. Do it and make sure and take notes.

There is a build up on a 6BT from a full size Dodge going in a 60. It should have plenty of power with 400ft/lbs essentially off idle stock.

Duramax would be cool. I know some of the earlier models had problems with injectors/fuel rail leaking.... Lots of electronics to incorporate... but that Alison 5speed auto would be great in an FJ60. Wonder how long the stock diffs would last?

Hey 89, no offence but there is no "G" in Cummins.

I'd guess that the "Mini Max" is to new an engine (read costly) to have somebody putting one in a 60 quite yet.

Just an idea.

Thanks HZJ60 Guy, I could never spell and I guess that shows my ignorance fro diesels as well. Although I think they are cool as junk. And would love to be able to make my own fuel! But I have no idea on anything about a diesel.
