I have the 2 new sensors..anyone have a lift ? ( my knees are going bad fast)...or any advice to make it easier ?.....seems like these are not gonna give up easily.....maybe soak em with wd-40 for a few days...then heat em up to loosen?

Don't need a lift.... a jack and jack stands will work great. You are more than welcome to bring it to my house on sunday

Al , what side of town do you live on ? I have jack and stands but was hoping for even more elbow room...actually i was hoping to avoid all the squatting and crawling...my 42yr old knees dont like me anymore...

West Charlotte, off MT Holly Huntersville right before it crosses the bridge over the Catawba

New studs and nuts plus a nut splitter are sometimes the easiest way to go here. Good luck.

thanx Jason, I had a feeling these would end up stripped and become uber troublesome....a nut splitter...a tool ,I have not...I imagine I should open it up at the manifold? or even pull the whole cat out?
are the o2 studs removable ? or part of the pipe... shes a 92 with the twin sensors...CEL is on...running richer than a wall street mogul...

eeeeeewwwww another 3FE huh ?? :flipoff2:

I have no direct experience with that exhaust system. You have a fore and aft sensor I presume like the 1FZ's.

Dont know if OEM studs are removeable but I know several have used the nut splitter to crack the first nut and get to the second. We used em on somebody's rig, Steves white 80 maybe, as the two nuts had corroded into one scaly blob.

I ordered new bungs for mine so thats why I ended up ordering new studs and nuts to go with it but that was more b/c the whole exhaust was being replaced instead of just the sensors. SoI have not tried replacing OEM studs in the original bung so I cant say for sure if they are removeable.

Some others have had luck with the grabit (tm) type socket remover where it cuts into the bolt upon reversing with the socket. We tried those and it didnt work so ended up with the nut splitter.

it is a 3fe but the sensors are side by side pre-cat...i think i will invest in a splitter anyway
thanx for the feedback guys..
