hey tom. i was impressed by the FJCs on Hell's Revenge as well. I had the big brown 60 on Thurday's run. The only problem with the stock one was bad spotting. I liked hearing the traction control wail on the way up Tip Over Challenge. They appear to do better than stock Hummers and Xterras. A rubicon is probably better off-road, but over all the FJC is a much nicer and more practical machine.

There was the one of you doing the Escalator and then all the others, she may decide to bring the FJ out this memorial after all. She could not believe after seeing the pictures that you drove up the Escalator in one step. I got crap after that for not finishing it
I am still trying to find out if the FJ finished Pritchett or not, I think the guy gave it his all to get up there because he was not going to be denied while I was there.
It was good wheeling with you, hopefully our paths will cross again some where in the future.
Ah the same old debate about people thinking that people don't wheel their precious vehicles that are brand new. I would just like to take a moment and say what gets a lot of people into the love of off roading in a toyota? It seems to me everyone was a newb at one time and bought a vehicle they probably didn't mean to wheel and got into the sport. It just so happens that right now the introductory vehicle is the FJC. People just need to step back and think how awesome it is that a lot of new people are learning the sport with them buying their new FJC's because they are stumbling on a different world that they were previously unaware of.
I wheel my FJ, I wheel it a LOT and I have the rash to prove it, I have the sliders I built with my own two hands to prove it, BUT that doesn't make me any different than any other FJC owner. I will gladly lend a hand to any new FJC owner that wants to find out what they can do with their vehicle and the fun that they can have, and I think everyone that is a TLCA member should do the same. We all love toyotas and we all love offroading can't we all just have a big gay toyota hug? Toyota, oh what a feeling...
When I told my Jeep buddies I was getting rid of my rubicon they all laughed and said I was stupid for buying a toyota. They cant believe what this thing can do with a couple of modifications. You dont even need a 6 inch lift(Sorry had to get my shot in about a non functioning lift option)
These things are built to wheel hard why wait 5-7 years wheel now. I met some of the coolest people on the trek to Moab and wouldnt have done so if I worried about a little damage. True I have an exo and it does keep me safe. It helps me practice my new love for toyota offroading and no strait axle. Live in the now and get out there.

I did Hell's Revenge during CM 07 on Thursday and there were 4 FJC on that trip. One lifted 3" with 315's one 2" lift 285's and one no lift 285"s and one totally stock.
How well did the non-lifted FJ do with 285's? Any rubbing problems, or any modifications done to prevent rubbing?
I'm interested in putting 285's on my 16" TRD rims, but I don't want to do any more modifications then necessary to make it work. I imagine that I'll at least need some spacers. Any info you can give would be appreciated. Thanks.
