I am looking into some wrangler M/t's for my 80 and was wondering how many miles I can really expect to get out of them. Thanks in advance for your input. By the way, I am planning on running 285/75/16's on a stock suspension until I can get a lift.
Thanks,
Colin

Goodyear MTs or MTRs?

I'm running MTRs. I thought GY phased out the MTs a while back. Could be wrong though...

CDan has run through a set or 2 of GY-MT and should be able to provide insight.

But Doug's correct: the GY - MT is not available anymore.

I'm hoping for 25K miles on my MTRs but that's a lot of time on a second set of offroad tyres.

The M/T, in civilian sizes, is a discontinued tire. It was a directional tire originally designed for the US military and was fitted to Hummers. I believe they are still made for the military. The MTR is the non-directional replacement for the M/T. I had two sets of M/T's in 305/70/16. I ran them ~30,000 miles per set. I still have them in the back room at work. There is a little tread left on them but they rumble at low speeds.
