Anyone running a vortec in their 62?

I recently spent 4 days driving my wife's 2004 Suburban with the 5.3 liter vortec engine and it got me thining about engine swaps - again. Anyone running a newer vortec in their FJ62 (or FJ60 for that matter)? How do you like it?

I have run a 5.7 FI in my 60 for 178k miles and have NEVER regretted it for one second.

It was bolted to the 700r and with a 2.73 low range made it a good choice

I run a 5.7 tbi-700r4-spliitcase combo in my 85 FJ60 and love it everytime I drive it. Today being the first time in months but I still love it. Finally got the twin sticks working properly. I'm ready for some dirt time now!!!

Got a 98 4.3 V6 in my junk with a 700r4 and a Geep 300 case....... works great. There are times I wish a had a couple more cylinders.

hey i put 91 4.3 in mine one cyl is a lil weak its a huge improve over the wore out f enjine i had
