Stop twisting my arm. You're such an instigator. I was going to buff out the trail rash. But I'm a go any time. My birthday is next week. How about this Sunday? Anywhere is fine. I'd like MoJ to take a shot at trail 10 at Flat Nasty. Miescha would probably agree that is was fun, but would be more fun now that he has some tires. SMORR wouldn't be too bad either. I think it's only about 45 minutes further than flat nasty.
How about a nice cruise through the woods down at Flat Nasty in the next few weeks? Possibly a rookie type orientation run for those who want to hit the trails for the first time.
It depends on what a "crusie through the woods" means. I have my 4Runner available but no rock/tree protection and I would cry real loud if I dented it.
There are a few newbies who I believe would like to get their feet wet.

I did get some prices on painting over the 40 yesterday. 3k if I bring it in taken apart and completely ready for paint and primer. 5k for the full monty. I do have a place availble to paint, it does have ventillation if anyone feel like coming out and pulling the trigger for me.
I think what I'm going to do is get the top done first, so I can put it back together. I need some paint advice also, there is a huge range of options on single stage vs. multi. , price, etc...I haven't seen to much action from X on the board. Hopefully, he's lurking and can give me some direction.

My parents 40th wedding anneversay party is that day. I can't make it.
I'm willing to help with the 40 paint but I would like it to be a tech session for anyone that would like to learn more about paint and prep.
Single stage vs. base clear is pretty easy to determine, it really depends on the project. Single stage is great where fadding is not an issue or if you like to constantly polish and wax to prevent it. It is also way cheaper in most cases. I would suggest base/clear for the 40 as you will probably be keeping it for a good long time. There are several brands that cost a small fortune and with good reason, the research and development of these products is rather extensive for color matching, durability and ease of use for production body shops. Some of the big manufacturers also carry a cheaper line that would use a different name, have less r/d but still have excellent durability such as PPG/Omni. PPG has been really big with the street rod/custom car culture and make an excellent product. Omni (the step child) is not well known but a very good product for complete paint jobs wear color matching for damage is not the biggest concern. My truck is painted with Omni and has held up very well.
I am not sure when we will be able to make out to the trails. If I can get rid of some old stock car stuff Sunday at the swap meet we may be able to get out some time soon. Vicky's hours got cut a couple months ago and things are beyond tight.

The hours cut thing is going around. My hours were cut last year on January 1. We had the layoff's are coming meeting on Thursday. I believe I'm ok. I'll be going to church tomorrow, not just because it's lent.
The swap meet went well enough to pay the power company, freakin' theives.
