You'll definitely rip stock or reman CV boots lifted, but a diff drop will lose some of the ground clearance you just gained and can also damage things due to diff having extra leverage against the frame. The actual CV angle should be totally fine, mine is just as steep if not more so and I have had zero issues (other than boots) on and off-road with the CVs.

I kept ripping CV boots prior to switching to All-Pro high-angle CV boots on my original OEM axles around a year-ish ago. No problems since and I've been very happy with them, and have almost 12" of ground clearance under the front of the GX.

Thanks for the advice, I will heed it. This little project car is turning into a much bigger project

Cracked coil on cylinder number 1. Runs great again. I couldn’t wait on the set of plugs and coils from 1a auto; so I bought a cheap one from advance. I didn’t even change the plug. I’ll do all of them Thursday and keep the cheap one for a spare. It drives a lot better when it’s not bucking. I’m happy with the front end. Still going to do the airbag trick, but not for long. How do I know what coils to get for the rear?

Got bilsteins on the back today, left side took 2 1/2 hours. Right side took 30 minutes. I wound up using a sawsall to cut the tops off. I did put a few scratches on a fuel line on the right. Was way easier to do the airbag trick with the right shock off( I was looking at the wrong bracket on the left side). The old shocks were completely shot. Ride is much better, but I’m hoping getting rid of the airbags will be more firm. Btw I’m pointing uphill a bit

I have these (came with my lift) and like them a lot:

Super-easy to adjust ride height. Just pull of a shock and twist the whole coil. I put on new front coilovers (warranty replacement) which lifted the front of my GX and was able to add the 1" of rake back in easily.

I’ll check those out for sure. I meant that it’s uphill to my garage from the driveway; but I like the idea of adjusting the rake. Maybe the high roof line makes the gx feel a little tippy ( not unsafe, just sways a bit). Everything seems to have been an improvement so far. After I change the plugs/ coils I think I’ll drive it for a month or so

I finally , got the iron man airbag delete kit with the iron man 2" coils installed today. $200 for the install. I haven't measured anything yet, but it's got the rake back. I feel like it rides better, haven't been on the interstate yet either. I'll take another photo later today. I got 25% off for labor day sale. I looked up instructions yesterday and it looks like the sale is still going

Rides better than stock ?
That's hard to believe

Well, I have 300,000 miles and a 2 inch lift on the front. Actually never ridden in a new gx. I'm just saying I think it rides better than mine did before

This is from today, looking at the photo from March; I think it was already torn. ( there is no grease in either pic). I'm getting ready to let my son take my gx back to Denver after he overheated his v8 4runner. Putting in new radiator tomorrow. I guess cv axles Thanksgiving weekend. I think I'm going to order the 5th gen 4runner/gx460 axles. Supposed to have the plastic boots on inner and outer joints.
