Hello YT - me again...

I've got a new 80 candidate I'm considering, and was wondering if any of y'all were willing to go give it a once over for me. As always, $50 and a case of your favorite brew as compensation for your time/knowledge.

I've spoken to the owner and he's sent additional pictures. Seems OK, though it's right on the edge of "properly maintained" that only an in-person look would determine.

Anyway, let me know if you can check her out, and I'll find out when's best for him.

Thanks.

from experience I would say you need a front and rear axle rebuild, probably an ebrake rebuild, rear calipers and maybe front ones. From the shine on the front of the oil pan the oil pump gasket and likely the dizzy gasket.

It has the 2.5" lift but it doesn't look like the caster bushings were installed and I'd suspect that the LSPV is frozen and that also hasn't been addressed.

But this is all typical and should be expected with a purchase of this age. So basically you are buying body and interior and pics should help in that regard.

Best of luck

I can take a look at it.

Hey, thanks Landtank and Wrench. I agree that this is probably a body and interior buy with a bunch of baselining to be done, which I'm fine with...but not at that price. I've got a lead on a 95 in CT that might be a better fit at 1/2 the price.

That said, I still will need some work done on whatever truck I end up with, so I might need some advice on shops in the northeast y'all would recommend (living in Brooklyn + parking on street = no room to wrench.)

Thanks again.

That would be awesome, Rick - just sent you a PM with some intel.

Truck was sold-but I might have a line on another, thanks for all the offers to help out.

Wow that was quick. It was a nice truck so I shouldn't be surprised.
