Anyone know this cruiser?

I bet Jim C knows it, it's in his hood

He claims it has a 4F engine. Maybe he doesn't know much about this truck?

I dig the "pre air filter" rice boy air filter off the air cleaner assembly.

7k

I emailed him and asked for the reserve and if I could come and take a look. He told me he is selling it locally for 7k and that he was too busy for me to come and take a look at it! LOL, shady to say the least, I wonder what is wrong with it, I love how he painted the dash pads when the dash was painted black. It's amazing how much better things always look in pictures on Ebay!!!

Pretty good. I've been spending most of my spare time fixing up that 4runner, so haven't had much time to keep up with message boards.

The new battery ended up going bad, but since it was new I thought at first it might be the starter (tapping the starter with a hammer got it to start up ok a couple times). Got the starter off and cleaned it up; it looked fine so put it back on but the truck wouldn't start unless I had it hooked to the charger. Took the battery out, charged it up, checked it the next morning and it was down to half.

Once I got the battery replaced, I cleaned up all the wiring in the center console area and re-wired the stereo system. I've got a new pilot bearing, just haven't had the time or energy to take the everything apart to get it installed. I'll probably be getting to that next weekend, since I'm going to be gutting and replacing the exhaust at the same time.

I'd bring it by the meeting this weekend if the in-laws weren't coming to visit. I have to get out that way pretty soon anyway; found a guy in cbus parting out a '91 runner that said I could have his seats and anything else he didn't need.

Sorry Dianna. But I just put that battery in there they said that it was dead:confused:. Bring it by the meeting I will run some checks on the charging system and if something is wrong other than the battery when i get my next check in Sep I will replace it.;) Ijust got a cool meter cause I had gremlins in the Cruiser to run out. This is funny that muffler was put on in dec but you know how old and where that thing came from? It was built in 1960 for Ford and was in my father in laws attic sence then:cool:.

Charging system looks to be running fine. I replaced the battery last weekend and it's driven fine since then with no problems at all. I figured the battery was toast when I took it out, charged it on the work table, and it was half drained when I checked on it the next morning.

It's not the muffler that's bad, but it smells like there's an exhaust leak just behind the manifold, and the pipe's got some gnarly welds in it which I think might be where the leak is coming from. So I figured since I'm going to be down there with everything apart to replace the pilot bearing, I might as well clean up the exhaust too, from the manifold back. I'll be giving it a small body lift and, once it's lifted, cleaning off the frame and coating it with rust preventative.

cool, I need to tell the local advance that there is a defect in those batteries i also have one in the cruiser and it appears after the weekend there is issues with it also.

Sorry for the thread hi-jack. :)

To get back on topic, no, I don't know who owns that cruiser, but it looks like he sold it for $5k. I'd worry about not getting a look at the frame in the posted pics, though, especially when the description mentions it's a "restoration work in progress".

Hijacked!!!

The ebay reserve was met, there has to be something wrong with it for him to refuse to let me come take a look, shady!!!

My guess is he bought the truck in the hope of restoring it, found something that was beyond his means to fix, and decided to sell it off to whoever would take it.
