I called up C-dan last night to order some new belts for an offroad trip coming up. Well it turns out I have an aftermarket A/C (York) and am running one belt for the ...A/c, Alt, crank, P.S. and the other shorter belt around.... crank,smog,WP...

He said there are suppose to be 3 belts. I would like to by pass my A/C since it does not work and has not since I bought the truck. For now I am just going to let it stay there with out a belt til i set it up for airing up the tires.

I know one belt goes around the crank to the A/c but what do the other belts go around? And possibly what lengh they are? for a 1982 fj60...

Alt, crank, ps?

Wp, crank, smog?

Ac, crank?

I think that is right, dont know the lengths though!

this is what i got going on ( kinda hard to see) But it looks like I wont be able to run 3 belts on account of how high my A/C is mounted. I would still like to by-pass it and run two smaller belts.

It seems that the smaller of the two is the stock set up, crank, WP, Smog
belts 005.webp
belts 007.webp

It looks like your a/c compressor is where your alternator should be, so you may not be able to get the stock belt arrangement to work. On the drivers side, the power steering is on top and the air pump on the bottom. On the passenger side the alternator is on top and the a/c compressor on the bottom.

On my 87, the belts are as follows:
one for the a/c only (also goes around the crank of course)
one for the alt/PS/crank
one for the airpump/waterpump/crank

Sorry, don't have the lengths.

Is your 60 an early 1980's model year? What year did Toyota start putting AC in? My truck was easy to get belts for as the AC was stock(1987), so Toyota had them in my hands within 3 days. I am no help I guess!

i believe it was 81 and 82 Fj60's that had the york compressors in some.

My 83' had that stock setup.

When the 81' and the 82's models where shipped to the US they came with no a/c units and i think it was the dealerships who installed the York compressors in those trucks. In 83' they started being shipped over with A/C already installed.

I have a November of 82 and it has factory air.

Is mine really an 83?
