Put a set of what look to be pretty good quality 7" round lights on the FJ45, called Autopal made of glass not plastic and well sealed. After putting them on and giving them a road adjustment the first thing I noticed is the strange lighting effect on the garage door. I have looked and looked but really can't see much of anything that would be causing this. I can suspect the glass is cut badly but even that really looks pretty good. Anyone know or can suggest what to check next? Bulbs?
They do have the internal parking lights on the bottom inside but I would not think that they would cause the effects seen on the door. They are bright but strange.

Thanks

They don't look well-adjusted and there is an odd difference between right and left. I would expect them to have the same light profile.

I recently installed a pair of Cibie E-codes and they are really nice.

spotcuiser, thanks for the reply but it seems as it was a simple fix. I was contacted by a USA rep from the Autopal company (surprised) and he said that the bulb is offset in the housing. Well I had already checked that and it was fitted snug. But I went out a few minuets ago to look again and sure as ________ it was off set. What I found is the detent spring that folds over the bulb to hold it in place when installed on one side was loose, and apparently with a few miles of driving it would vibrate out of the socket to be off set causing a strange light pattern. I bent the retaining clip on both lock areas where they fall into the lock groove on the housing to put more tension on the bulb while in the socket. Now it is snug. Simple problem solved just need to pay a bit more attention. Will give it a drive tonight after work, it will be foggy so that will help.
Thanks

Makes sense....seemed like the bulb wasnt in that sweet spot for reflection. I had that issue on our XTerra with a broken bulb retainer...let the bulb let the housing reflect almost straight down.
