I'm looking for maybe 6-8 ft of tube, 1.5" to 1.75" diameter, no need for DOM. Anyone have any they want to get rid of? or know of somewhere I can pick some up in the Triangle? TIA.

Fabco in Cary usually has some tube in stock. Fair prices, good guys - talk to Shep.

Ramon, Shep is the man! Went down there at lunch and got exactly what I was looking for + a little extra for dirt cheap. Thanks.

/me thinks we should talk to him about "sponsorship"

He just runs the place, he's not the owner. But anytime we go there we need to let them know how the word is getting spread. The machinist (Jon Broughton) who cut my 465 plate turned me onto him.

Now, spill the beans! What's the project????? Killin' me here.

I need to mount my spare tire and I do not want a swingout on the 4x4Labs bumper. I was going to call Slee for that interior tire carrier, thought about the $200+ price, and decided to try and make my own. So I got $9 worth of tube from Fabco and am going to give it a shot this weekend. I don't plan to bend any (unless someone wants to get adventurous lol), I am just going to cut and notch the tube and work with a little plate to see if I can get something decent utilizing the existing holes for the 3rd seat, rear-most seat belt, and the grab handle.

Jerry, if this works out, maybe I can come by to have you burn it? ;)

Sure, sounds like a fun project that I could mooch ideas from since I just got back from my road trip and I'm not standing on the side of I95...

Hrm, that doesn't sound good Jerry.................

No, its good, at least with my limited knowledge. I was just nervous to drive 550 miles in a vehicle that I bought on Ebay. And, Mikaela had to follow along, driving in the holiday traffic of I95. All I can say is soooo many people simply don't know how to drive...

I95 is a b!tch esp during the holidays...drove it to Boca Raton and back the day after xmas to pic up the 40...I hope to never make that drive again.

Glad you made it back safe with the new ride.
