Anyone in Seattle who would look at this 03 LC for me?

I live in Alaska and I am in the market for another 100 series.

(sold my pristine 2000 LC last August)

There are not many of these available in Alaska, and the ones that are for sale are pretty hammered due to the bad roads and harsh climate.

I am talking to the guy at Evergreen Ford in Seattle about a black 2003 Land Cruiser that they got on a trade in.

http://www.evergreenford.com/Cars-f...-2003-Toyota-Land Cruiser/v=JTEHT05J732034839

The truck is located at Exit 15 & I-90
1500 18th Ave. NW
Issaquah, WA 98027

The service records look good, and the pictures look good, but there is only so much you can tell from service records and pictures. I want to make sure that this is worth the time before I fly down to Seattle to make a deal.

Is there a mudder in Seattle who could go check this truck out for me?
Check for rust underneath, worn out or bent components, and general driveability. Let me know if the electronics work like they are supposed to.

Any cracks in the windshield or headlights? any body damage?

Check the fuse boxes and electrical system for hacks- trailer wiring; trailer brakes; anything non-OEM?

It looks like this truck is in good shape and well-maintained by Toyota of Renton, but I'd like the opinion of a neutral party on the ground in Seattle.

I will provide a case of premium beer to the first one or two people who can offer an informed, independent report on the condition and driveability of this vehicle.

[to the monkey: I realize that this is only not really sort of tech-related, but didn't know where else to put it where people would see it].

Thanks for your help.:flipoff2:

Sorry I didn't det you email.

Hi Jun~ I sent you a couple private messages to your ih8mud messages. I don't know your personal email address.

It's probably easiest if you send an email to my gmail account:

I am still interested in the truck, but need to know if it's worth spending a weekend a $600 plane ticket to go to Seattle to check it out.

Let me know if you can help. thanks

I'm sure you're aware, but there are independent companies that will do remote inspections for you. Typically around $125. They take a bunch of pictures, crawl all over it, operate all switches and systems, and drive it. Are they LC experts? No. But the one I used did a pretty good job of sorting out that the real truck was way different than the advertised truck.

Not a bad idea. The dealer may even be willing to cover your travel costs if you buy the vehicle. It looks like its got an electric brake controller installed, so it's probably done some heavy towing in the past. Not a bad thing, just gives you an idea of where to start while inspecting.

Thanks for the feedback and advice.

I got a PM from another mud member today who is gonna try to check it out for me.

Apart from wear and tear on the transmission and brakes, and electrical system hacks, what are the other potentially undesirable effects of towing?

Thanks for your help!
